Today, May 1, a transfer window in Russian hockey has been officially opened. It allows players to transfer from club to club within the league. On it´s first day HC Lokomotiv made the following transfer steps:

The Club and Yegor Averin have agreed to extend the contract until the end of 2020/21 season.

Also, there are three new Railwaymen of the Lokomotiv roster:

Canadian goalie Edward (Eddie) Pasquale.

The last KHL season he spent in Barys (Nur-Sultan) and achieved 28 wins in 51 games for the team with 1.95 GAA. 29-years old Pasquale´s career is highlighted by 2017 AHL Calder Cup with the Grand Rapids Griffins. Also, in 2019 he was part of the strongest goalie´s duo in the AHL and won the Harry Holmes Memorial Award with the Syracuse Crunch (AHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning). Edward Pasquale has entered the NHL ice during the 2018/19 last season with 3 games and 2 wins for the Tampa Bay. Lokomotiv and Edward Pasquale have agreed on 2 seasons contract.

Finnish defensemen Atte Ohtamaa. Experienced, 32-years old D-men, already reached the KHL Gagarin Cup in 2018 with Ak Bars Kazan. He also was the Champion of Liiga in Finland (2008), and twice (2009, 2019) – the finalist of SM-Liga Playoffs with Oulun Karpat. On the international level Atte Ohtamaa won the 2019 IIHF World Championship with the Team Finland last spring and twice has been the silver medalist (2014, 2016). Last KHL season, along with Edward Pasquale, he played in Barys. The contract with Atte Ohtamaa will last 1 season.


Ziyat Paigin is coming back to Lokomotiv. Young D-men has already worn the jersey with "Л" back in 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons. Last season 25-yers old Paigin has played 56 games on the Neftekhimik roster with 12 (5+7) points. Also, during 2019/20 season Ziyat was called to the Russian Olympic team. The two-way contract with Ziyat Paigin signed for 2 seasons.
