HISTORY

1949. First steps of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl

A hockey team named "Lokomotiv" was formed in Yaroslavl. The team had the right to represent the city in the championship of the RSFSR. Lokomotiv played its first match on January 8, 1950 against Spartak from Kalinin. The game ended with the score 1:6 in favor of Spartak.

Now there is reliable evidence that the Lokomotiv team in Yaroslavl also existed in the next season - 1950/51. However, the team was unable to achieve great success and was disbanded. Further, the honor of Yaroslavl city in the All-Russian and All-USSR hockey arenas was represented by teams Spartak and Khimik, as well as the team of the Yaroslavl Motor Plant under various names.
